First Future Credit Union Celebrates Grand Opening In Poway By Donating Thousands of Dollars To The Community

SAN DIEGO, CA – May 25, 2007 - When you think of First Future Credit Union, the credit union philosophy of “people helping people” comes to mind. And in an effort to integrate itself into the community of Poway, First Future Credit Union celebrated the opening of its newest branch by giving over $3,000 dollars to the community of Poway.

During the month of April, First Future Credit Union hosted grand opening celebrations all centered on benefiting several organizations in Poway. On Wednesday, May 23rd First Future hosted a VIP reception at its branch located at 13616 Poway Road. Local dignitaries, business leaders and representatives from Poway High School, the Chamber of Commerce and Soroptimist International of Poway were present to receive donation checks from First Future totaling $3,600 dollars.

“Being involved in its’ community is in large part what makes credit unions so unique over banks and other financial institutions, and we wanted to introduce the City of Poway to First Future by showing them that we will be an active partner in their community,” commented Marketing Manager of First Future Credit Union, Kimberly Bianco. “When considering a new branch location, we appreciated the close knit community spirit that Poway possessed. We are honored with the warm welcome that we have received from the community of Poway, and we look forward to a long partnership with our neighbors.”

During the entire month of April, students from Poway High School participated in an “Interior No-Water Car Wash” which included car detailing, tire care, interior vacuuming and upholstery treatment for a suggested donation. Gross proceeds from each Saturday’s event benefited a sports team or civic organization from Poway High School, and in addition, First Future Credit Union matched all donated funds to Poway High School’s “Class of 2007 Grad Nite.” Members of the Poway High Girl’s Varsity La Crosse Team raised over $800 dollars in donations, allowing them to compete in a national out-of-state competition where they placed 2nd and First Future Credit Union donated a generous $1,600 dollars to “Poway High’s Grad Nite 2007.”

At this year’s Poway Street Fair held on April 22nd, First Future Credit Union also hosted the “People Choice Awards” and Classic Car Show sponsored in part by Poway Transmissions and the Motorhead Madness Car Show. First Future Credit Union donated $1,000 dollars to Soroptimist International of Poway for their participation in the event.

And patrons of the Street Fair were also fortunate enough to experience the thrill of taking a once-in-a-lifetime ride in First Future’s hot air balloon! Soaring at a height of up to 100 feet over Poway, the balloon rides were definitely the highlight of this year’s fair. Gross proceeds from ticket sales were donated to the Poway Chamber of Commerce by First Future Credit Union totally $1,000 dollars.
