First Future Credit Union’s President and CEO Marla Shepard Appointed to Jack Henry Board of Directors
SAN DIEGO, CA – February 6, 2007 - Marla Shepard, president and CEO of San Diego-based First Future Credit Union, was appointed to the Board of Directors of Jack Henry & Associates, Inc. Based in Monett Missouri, Jack Henry & Associates is a leading provider of integrated technology solutions and data processing services for financial institutions. Ms. Shepard will be the Board’s credit union expert and only San Diego-based member. She is also Jack Henry’s first female Board member.
“We expect that Marla’s intimate knowledge of the credit union industry and marketplace will be instrumental, considering that more than 18 percent of Jack Henry’s revenue is now generated by the products and services we provide to credit unions,” said Jack Prim, CEO of Jack Henry & Associates. Jack Henry & Associates entered the credit union marketplace in 2000 when Symitar, a San Diego-based company that had been serving credit unions for nearly 20 years, became part of the Jack Henry family.
Ms. Shepard has been employed by the San Diego-based credit union for the past 34 years, serving as CEO for the last 25 years. She has been extensively involved in professional organizations that support the credit union industry, and has held leadership positions in the California Credit Union League, served on the Credit Union National Administration’s Risk Oversight Committee and the Board of the International Association of Technology Credit Unions.
Ms. Shepard will fill the newly created seat expanding the Board from seven to eight members. The expansion of the Board was a result of a recently adopted resolution during the Board of Directors meeting held on November 29th, 2006. Ms. Shepard’s appointment became effective on January 1, 2007.
