First Future Credit Union Soars To New Heights And Raises Twenty Thousand Dollars For Local Charity
Credit Union surpasses fundraising goal crediting overwhelming success to member generosity
SAN DIEGO, CA – June 22, 2007 – When First Future Credit Union set its Credit Union for Kids Miracle Month of May goal for 2007, we were only looking to surpass our own fundraising efforts from previous years. Banking on the continuing generosity of our members, we set a hearty goal of raising $12,500. However, we were astonished with the overwhelming support which we received from our members as well as our zealous employees, and are very excited to announce that this year’s fundraising efforts surpassed our goal, bringing in a total of $20,000 in contributions for this year’s campaign.
First Future Credit Union is pleased to report that for the past three years, we have consistently surpassed our fundraising goals, and in addition, raised more funds for the Miracle Month of May than any other credit union in San Diego. None of which would be possible without the partnership and support of our members.
This year’s fundraising efforts consisted of soliciting contributions from our members who received recognition “Miracle Balloons” (paper hot-air balloons) which were on display in our 18 branches throughout San Diego and Riverside Counties. In addition, our corporate office held an employee-run bake sale, raffle and staff luncheon.
Gross proceeds from the Credit Union for Kids Miracle Month of May campaign go directly to Rady Children’s Hospital and Health Center for the Patient Care Fund which directly aids patients programs, services, and technology. This year’s fundraising efforts raised $175,000 for Rady Children’s Hospital, of which $96,000 came directly from the Miracle Month of May campaign. “We deeply appreciate all of the support Credit Union for Kids continues to give Rady Children’s. They are helping to safeguard San Diego’s most precious community resource, our children,” commented Mindy Collins, Rady Children’s Corporate Development Coordinator. Credit Union For Kids is comprised of 20 San Diego area credit unions collectively fundraising on behalf of Rady Children’s Hospital.
