JOB OBJECTIVE:
This position is accountable to plan, design, develop, and launch efficient software to support the Symitar core processing system utilizing the Symitar Report Generator functionality as well as external programming systems and methodologies. This individual will apply proven communication, analytical and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate and resolve systems issues in order to maximize the benefit of IS systems investments.

NATURE & SCOPE:

• This person will assist in the planning, design, development, and deployment of new applications and enhancements to existing applications. Will meet with decision makers, systems owners, and end users to define business requirements and systems goals, and identify and resolve business systems issues.
• The Programmer ensures compatibility and interoperability of in-house computing systems, reviews and analyzes the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems, and develop strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems.
• This person will create system design proposals and perform cost-benefit and return on investment analyses for proposed systems to aid management in making implementation decisions.
• Will also create systems models, specifications, diagrams and charts to provide direction to system programmers, and also coordinate and perform in-depth tests, including end-user reviews, for modified and new systems.
• Will conduct research on hardware and software products to justify recommendations and to support purchasing efforts.
• The programmer will provide orientation and training to end users for all modified and new systems, as well as guidance and work direction to other IS team members.

EDUCATION, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

• Requirements include a college diploma or university degree in the field of Computer Science, Information Science or MIS and/or equivalent 5+ years related work experience.
• Also required are proven experience in overseeing the design, development, and implementation of software and hardware solutions, systems, or products and working technical knowledge of the programming languages used by the organization.
• Previous experience with Microsoft Office Applications (Excel, Word and Outlook) is required.
• Requires experience with Symitar with core software applications including Episys for Windows, and extensive coding methods experience. Advanced Report Generator experience required including HTML, HTML Post Back (MCW Interactive Spec Files desired). Should have the ability to conduct research into systems issues and products as required. Microsoft Visual Studio.net C# experience preferred. Experience in Microsoft SQL and/or MySql highly desirable.
• The person should possess good project management skills, excellent written and oral communication skills and interpersonal skills, and the ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language. Must be highly self motivated and directed with a keen attention to detail and proven analytical and creative problem-solving abilities.
